Beautiful Blooms

I'm a huge flower geek. It's a subject I gravitate towards naturally because of the vivid colours and the opportunity for great detail in my shots. I'd love to shoot with a macro lens (it's on the list of things to buy!) but I'll have to do with the one I have now, which produces some quality shots.

Soon it'll be time to shoot the beautiful autumn leaves but, for now, enjoy these pictures from the spring and summer!

My niece Rachel was born in April and, naturally, as is true with most babies, I like taking pictures of her. Since I'm just now forging into portrait photography, it's a huge learning experience for me.

My name is Lindsay and I'm a photoholic.

I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do with this blog yet, but in the very least you can expect to see some of my favourite personal photos, as well some resulting from photo shoots I participate in. I'm attempting a shift into portraits, although I do love landscapes, animals and street photography as well. HDR is a hobby as well, and I'll post the results of some of those as I get better at it.

I shoot mostly in Vancouver, BC and the surrounding area, with a Canon EOS Rebel xsi and the basic 18-55mm kit lens. We've all gotta start somewhere, right?
